As first reported by the Dayton Daily News, Arabella Chocolate and Turkish Coffee will soon move into a new shop at Dayton Mall, located at 2700 Miamisburg Centerville Rd. The original location of Arabella was established in Portland, Oregon in 2021, where the owners Ala and Suha started and operated the business at Washington Square Mall. The chocolate and coffee shop also previously operated out of a space in 2023 at Kenwood Mall in Cincinnati, but will open its new location in a 1,400-square-foot store near Center Court inside the Dayton Mall.

The shop will serve individually wrapped Jordanian style chocolates, and desserts like fresh pre-packaged baklava, as well as the traditional Arabic dessert kunafah, which is also sometimes spelled knafeh. The sweet, cheese-based Middle Eastern dessert starts with a crispy, flaky pastry soaked in a syrup that’s stuffed with gooey cheese and topped with crushed nuts.

Additionally, there will be a selection of hot drinks available, such as tea and Turkish coffee, hot chocolate, as well as fall season delights such as lentil soup and sahlab, a Middle Eastern milk pudding.

“The colors will be black and gold. We’ll have 18 seats and some Mediterranean design elements like arches,” owner Ala Suaifan said of the shop’s interior. Suaifan said the goal is to open the shop by next month, but stay up to date with the opening day details by following the business on Facebook.
