A new juice lounge is on its way to Columbus. The new business will open at 249 S 3rd St, and is called VitaliTea Juice Lounge. The ownership is currently in the midst of the permitting process and doesn’t have a firm timeline for opening, however, the team is excited to bring its unique concept to the downtown community.

Owners Adebomi Nanyanika, Dominic Chatman, Jazma Carter and Ronald Price, Jr., will welcome guests in an earthy, holistic atmosphere. Although the establishment’s floor plans haven’t been finalized yet, the team anticipates being able to seat somewhere between 12 and 30 guests indoors, with a mix of tables, bar seating along the window, and lounge style seating, along with some sidewalk seating available outside.

The inside will also feature a stage area to host live entertainment, plus a bookshelf with books that focus on herbalism and holistic health that guests can peruse as they enjoy their tea or juice.

And because the owners grew up listening to classic hip hop, the offerings will pay homage to the music genre through names that reference classic hip hop artists, songs or phrases, with menu items like “Ooh La La La” and “So Fresh and So Clean, Clean.”

“We want people to know that healthy doesn’t have to be boring,” Nanyanika said of the concept.

Nanyanika continued to explain that the owners view classic hip hop not only from a music perspective, but also from the way the artists impacted culture and the youth of the time, since the genre influenced everything from fashion to the way young people expressed themselves.

“The music was different back then and it meant something. They were storytellers and philosophers, and we want to bring that back,” Nanyanika said.

The menu will rotate according to the seasons, but offerings include loose leaf teas, smoothies, smoothie bowls and fresh pressed juices. When it comes to ingredients, the smoothies and juices are made with a variety of exotic fruits, as well as adaptogens, herbs and other ingredients that support health and wellness.

“We’ll be teaming up with fitness and nutrition professionals to help guests that want to personalize their health goals,” she said.

Although there isn’t a food menu, the establishment is partnering with local businesses Str8 Out the Kitchen and Soul2Go, so that guests can order food from those restaurants and get it delivered to VitaliTea Juice Lounge.

Currently the ownership is planning to host several soft openings as well as a grand opening once permitting and construction are completed. Stay up to date with the opening details by following the business on Instagram or by connecting with its Facebook group.
