As first reported by Dayton Business Journal, Dayton bakery Val’s Bakery is expanding and opening a quick-service coffee shop. The establishment, located at 5707 Bigger Rd, in Kettering, will be less than 200-square-feet inside and will feature a drive-thru, with a focus on quick-service coffee selections and baked goods.

Owned by Paige Woodie who started Val’s Bakery in 2020 as a home based business, the bakery has grown from there over the past four years. Val’s Bakery currently has a location in downtown Dayton, located at 25 S St Clair St, and the bakery just moved into that space earlier this year.

The menu will feature the bakery’s pastries and savory baked items like scones, cookies, brownies, bagels and focaccia, as well as serving coffee drinks that range from simple drip coffee, pour overs and cold brew, to lattes and cappuccino and tea beverages.

A firm timeline for opening the second location hasn’t been released by the company yet. What Now Columbus reached out to Woodie for more information, but a request for comment wasn’t returned.

Stay tuned to the bakery by following it on Facebook or Instagram to learn more details about the second location.
