The new restaraunt is expected to open by July 4 and will feature sweet treats such as edible cookie dough, rolled ice cream, Italian ices and deli sandwiches. Like their current business, Bits & Pieces will also draw on nostalgia with the staff donning 50s attire to complement the history of the building.

Tom Lillicrap tells What Now Columbus that the business is in a space that’s rich in history, since it’s in the building that used to be the Fort Piqua Hotel, a Victorian-style building built in the late 1800s. The building has been renovated and houses the town library, with additional space for other businesses. Although Bits & Pieces will have a retro aspect, it will also have a totally different look, feel and style from the Main Street candy shop, and offer seating for up to 25 people.

“It will be a retro sandwich shop, with everything made to order and served quickly,” Lillicrap said of Bits & Pieces.

Other menu items available will be coney dogs, barbecue and shredded chicken sandwiches, along with wraps and cold meat sandwiches. For drink options, a cooler will house bottled Coca Cola products and a few varieties of glass bottled sodas that are also available in their candy shop.

This & That’s Candy on Main opened in late 2018 and the candy shop features vintage toys, over 80 different flavors of salt water taffy, 180 different glass bottle sodas and a large selection of retro candy.
