According to a press release, Columbus restaurant, bar and distillery High Bank Co. plans to open a third location in spring 2024 at 28 S State St in Westerville. The press release details how Adam Hines, co-founder and master distiller at High Bank Co., in partnership with Steve Wathen of Equity and John A. “We want to honor and preserve the history of Westerville by bringing our third location to a city with such a rich story. We are excited to tell stories and create experiences for the community through both our restaurant and distillery,” Hines said in the press release.

High Bank Co. currently operates two locations in Grandview and Gahanna. Their new location will be in a former U.S. Post Office, a space full of history and stories, since Westerville was one the first areas in Ohio to pass anti-saloon ordinances.

“We are renovating the old Post Office building into two entirely new spaces. Actual Prohibition, anti-saloon league propaganda was mailed out from this building, which is amazing to me,” Hines explained in the release.

According to the press release, the new space will feature a 3,600 square foot full-service restaurant and bar including two patios, a retail store and exterior DORA window (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area). There will also be a 2,000 square foot speakeasy located underground that will serve an elevated cocktail menu with lighter fare options.

High Bank Co. is a local Columbus restaurant, bar and distillery founded in 2017. The menu features casual, yet elevated local and seasonally inspired ingredients that pair well with the distillery’s award-winning spirits. Menu offerings include burgers, salads, pizza and appetizers like pimento cheese and nachos.
