What Now Columbus reached out to Minnich to get details on the anticipated opening date for the location, but a request for comment was not immediately available.

According to information found on its website, Jersey Mike’s offers “a sub above” by using local produce when possible, adding a signature red wine vinegar and oil blend to the subs and utilizing quality ingredients. The chain got its start as a single shop located on the Jersey Shore, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey in 1956, but didn’t start expanding to other locations until the 1970s, after employee Peter Cancro purchased the original sub shop in 1971, at the age of 17, as outlined on the eatery’s website. Today, Cancro is the CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs and there are presently over 2,000 shops either open or in various stages of development.

Jersey Mike’s offers a variety of sub sandwiches, served both cold and hot, with options ranging from cheese steaks made with beef or chicken, to cold subs like the Italian, tuna fish and veggie sub. Sides and desserts are also offered, such as bags of chips and cookies, along with fountain and bottled drink selections.
