According to a recent press release, a new winery is coming to downtown Hilliard next spring. Groundbreaking on the project site is expected to happen this summer and when it opens in 2024, Firefly Winery will be housed in a 4,500 square foot building on the corner of Grant and Franklin Streets.

The release went on to detail that Firefly Winery will feature a variety of wines ranging from dry to sweet reds and whites, fruit wines, seasonal sangrias as well as wine slushies. Food offerings will include charcuterie, freshly-baked Focaccia and other small plates.

The winery is owned by Jenny and Joe Hollabaugh, Hilliard residents who have invested several years searching for their ideal location. As detailed in the release, the couple previously operated Indian Bear Winery in Knox County, and Joe has served as a consultant in several other wine businesses. The couple has partnered with Hilliard area developer Westwood Collective to help bring the Firefly Winery project to life. 

“We did a lot of research, and you really have to travel to another city to have a slightly more upscale experience with a glass of wine and charcuterie,” Jenny Hollabaugh said in the press release.

The winery will have a covered patio where guests can enjoy wine and food outside, and the press release details how Westwood Collective will also develop an outdoor area on the property known as The Yard, described as a park-like setting that features a pond, plenty of seating and yard games.
