What Now Columbus spoke with Jayson Hartings, chief operating officer with Yellow Springs Brewery, who shared details about the brewery’s second location and the team’s excitement about the expansion. After 10 years at their primary location, the team at Yellow Springs Brewery is ready to bring their brews to Clintonville and build their brand in the Columbus area.

“We’ve had many people from Columbus visit us in Yellow Springs and we’re excited to become a part of the Columbus community,” Hartings said.

The new location will offer 20 taps, which is the same number of taps at the primary location, along with a full kitchen. Hartings said that the menu is still being developed in partnership with the current chef and kitchen team at The Crest. The food offerings at the new taproom and kitchen will feature a unique twist on classic bar food that’s also approachable, what Hartings describes as “elevated Appalachian” cuisine.

In terms of beer, the Clintonville tap list will mirror what’s available at the Yellow Springs location so guests can enjoy the brews they’re familiar with such as the brewery’s flagship offering Boat Show, an American IPA. Although the full tap list will be available in Clintonville, there won’t be any beer brewed on site, as all brewing will continue to be done at their Yellow Springs facility.

The Crest is set to close next month and the brewery is aiming for a fall opening, since there isn’t a lot of interior work that needs to be done at the Clintonville location. Depending on permitting and other factors, the taproom and kitchen could open as soon as the end of October, but a firm opening hasn’t been set, according to Hartings.
