The Louisiana inspired chicken chain will open in the Huber Heights Commons development.

A new Popeyes restaurant is coming to the Dayton area at 7670 Troy Pike in Huber Heights, in the Huber Heights Commons development. Huber Heights Commons is a 17.8 acre mixed-use development that features several local and national chain restaurants including Bibibop Asian Grill and Wat Da Pho as well as retail tenants and a 192 unit apartment complex.

Popeyes formed in New Orleans in 1972 and is known for serving fried chicken, seafood, biscuits and Louisiana inspired sides, like mashed potatoes with cajun gravy and red beans and rice. Currently, there are 3,000 Popeyes restaurants in North America.

Dayton area Popeyes are operated by The Gilligan Company, a Cincinnati and Dayton area company that serves as a franchisor for Subway, Popeyes and Dunkin’ Donuts in addition to operating several convenience store chains. 

What Now Columbus reached out to a representative with The Gilligan Company for a timeline on opening, but didn’t receive an immediate response.
