According to a recent Columbus Underground article, a new nightclub and lounge space is coming to the basement of the historic Ho-Toy Building located at 11 W State St in downtown Columbus. Sous-Sol, currently slated for a soft opening in mid-June, will focus on serving soul food inspired bar snacks as well as drinks.
Part live performance art experience, part dining and drinking spot, part interactive dance club, Sous-Sol will have a dance floor that reacts when guests step on it and walls that will serve as the digital backdrop for artistic live performances that will take place every half hour or so, per the Columbus Underground article.
When it comes to the bites offered at Sous-Sol, one of the hallmarks of the menu will be unique twists on deviled eggs and shots that pair well with the flavors found in the eggs. There will even be deviled egg options for those who eat plant-based.
And if the art performances and food weren’t exciting enough, once the clock strikes 10 p.m. the space transforms into a dance club.
The Ho-Toy Building was purchased by Tora Bonnier, and her business Bonnier Building LLC. Bonnier is planning on opening The State House, a restaurant that will serve a menu filled with ingredients found within Ohio, as well as a third concept called Xenon that will open on the mezzanine level of the building.
